The 157.4-kilometer stage included two first-category climbs: Wildhaus and Schwagalp. After these climbs, Narvaez and Meurisse formed a breakaway, holding on for over 90 kilometers in heavy rain.
The peloton, led by Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), gradually reduced the breakaway’s advantage, which went from three minutes to half a minute in the final meters of the race.
Despite the pressure, Narvaez and Meurisse maintained enough of a gap to contest the stage win. The Ecuadorian prevailed in the sprint, achieving victory.
