The Persian nation reaffirms its readiness to respond to any military action.

On Friday, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a legislator who is also Iran’s chief negotiator, announced that the start of dialogue with the United States in Geneva will remain subject to strict compliance with the pre-established guidelines set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Following the announcement of the postponement of the meeting in Switzerland scheduled for June 19, Ghalibaf reaffirmed that Iran will maintain an unwavering position in defense of its national interests and warned that any reckless military action will receive a forceful and immediate response.

He also emphasized that Iran will act under the principle of strict reciprocity, meaning the United States will bear the consequences if it fails to meet its obligations. Conversely, mutual compliance with the MoU terms will guarantee the stability of the process toward peace.

Ghalibaf recalled that Iran is highly prepared for possible hostile scenarios and potential betrayal acts. The Persian nation will not hesitate to employ its military capabilities in its legitimate armed self-defense to “educate international actors who fail to embrace the path of sovereign understanding.”

On Friday, representatives of Iran, the U.S. and Pakistan were scheduled to meet in Geneva to begin the negotiation process aimed at reaching a final agreement on nuclear issues.

As a result of Israel’s new attacks on Lebanon, however, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei suspended that meeting, recalling that negotiations will not resume until the necessary conditions for their commencement are met.

The preliminary peace agreement “dictates that formal discussions depend heavily on executing specific foundational clauses immediately. These mandatory conditions require an absolute cessation of active military hostilities across multiple operational fronts. Furthermore, the conditions demand the immediate termination of the extensive maritime blockade by Western naval forces,” Tehran Telegraph recalled.

“The MoU also stipulates the unrestricted and tax-free reopening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz shipping lane. Additionally, the Islamic Republic must preserve the current operational status quo regarding its domestic nuclear development. Finally, international financial institutions must address the complex issue of frozen sovereign Iranian financial assets,” it added.

Baghaei also denied that his country had invited the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to examine Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“The current status of Iran’s nuclear program will remain unchanged over the next 60 days. Therefore, inspections at facilities that have previously been inspected, including the Bushehr nuclear power plant, will continue,” the Persian diplomat explained.

“Inspections at facilities that the IAEA was unable to access because of the U.S.-Israeli aggression will depend on the progress of the negotiations and their conclusions,” Baghaei added.
