Attacks threaten the U.S.-Iran agreement while Trump says Iran will receive no funds under the deal.
On Friday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei directly blamed the United States for the latest Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

“Iran will take all necessary measures to safeguard its interests, its security and its rights, as well as those of its allies,” he said, recalling that ending hostilities in Lebanon is part of the understanding with the United States.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army killed 18 people in new attacks across several parts of Lebanon on Friday. The attacks are taking place despite the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and U.S. President Donald Trump, whose first provision calls for an end to hostilities in Lebanon and which entered into force Thursday.
Iran has been warning for weeks that the Lebanese front is one of the red lines that could derail the agreement with the United States if Israel continues attacking Lebanon, as it has continued to do.

United States Will Not Deliver Money to Iran
On Friday, Trump said Iran was the party that sought rapprochement with Washington and warned that Tehran would not receive the funds contemplated under the recent agreement to end the war between the two countries.
“We didn’t meet out of desperation, Iran did. They are FINISHED! We’ll play out the 60 days. They get no money, not ten cents!” the U.S. president said on Truth Social.
“The War has diminished Iran! It doesn’t, any longer, have an Air Force, a Navy, Antiaircraft Equipment, Radar, or practically anything else, and yet the Dumocrats say that Iran is better off now than it was four months ago. Can you imagine getting away with that??? How stupid can some people be???” he added.
On Thursday, the United States and Iran postponed a meeting scheduled for Friday in Geneva with mediators from Qatar and Pakistan. The meeting was intended to formalize the memorandum of understanding and begin addressing the details of a more lasting peace agreement.
The Iranian delegation canceled its trip at the last minute because of Israel’s attacks in Lebanon. The decision was communicated to the United States, where officials have been expressing increasingly public disagreements with Israel.
On Friday, however, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that his army would “unequivocally” continue occupying part of southern Lebanon and confronting the Hezbollah resistance movement. The Zionist leader’s remarks came hours after U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Israel must “respect” the peace process initiated with Iran.
