“It is no coincidence that President Vladimir Putin announced some time ago after another stunt by the Kiev terrorists that we will now conduct massive group strikes on a regular basis,” he said.

“On targets the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine directly depends on. This task was set by the supreme commander-in-chief, our armed forces are carrying it out and will continue to do so.”

“I believe that all the right words have been said, but I have long been convinced that words are not enough,” Lavrov said.

The Russian diplomat was commenting on the Ukrainian attack on Moscow, which left 17 people injured, caused a fire at a refinery, and damaged the capital’s civilian infrastructure.

Putin recently said Russia would intensify strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure used by the military in retaliation for Kiev’s attacks on Russian civilian targets. He made the statement after 21 people were killed at a student dormitory struck by Ukrainian forces in Luhansk.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over the past 24 hours its air defense forces shot down nearly 1,000 Ukrainian drones, the highest number since the war began in 2022. In Moscow alone, nearly 200 enemy drones were neutralized in the early morning hours.
