THE Next Steps Conference on Reparatory Justice has opened in Accra, the Ghanaian capital.

The three-day conference brings together heads of state and government, policymakers, legal experts, academics, civil society representatives, and members of the African diaspora to progress plans to secure reparatory justice.

The conference focuses on legal frameworks, implementation mechanisms, and institutional reforms needed for reparations.

This meeting follows the adoption of United Nations general assembly resolution A/RES/80/250 on March 25, 2026.
