Sheinbaum cites 2.1% industrial growth in April from 7% construction expansion, plus record Mexican exports.

Mexico City. During the month of April, industrial activity grew 2.1 percent, in large measure because the construction industry rose close to 7 percent, President Claudia Sheinbaum stated, considering that this represents “good numbers” for the country. Likewise, she highlighted the new record in Mexican exports in April with 709 billion dollars, above the 692 billion dollars reached last March.

Meanwhile, the Tourism Secretary, Josefina Rodríguez, said that in April three new records were registered in the performance of this sector: 8.3 million international visitors were reached, an 8 percent growth in April compared to the same period of 2025; 3.81 million international tourists were reported, 1.8 percent compared to April of last year; and 1.25 million cruise passengers were registered, 31.5 percent more than 2025.

In the cumulative four-month period, the secretariat reported that there have been 34.5 million international visitors, 9.7 percent more than in the same period of 2025; 16.5 million foreign tourists were reported, 5.5 percent more than the first four-month period of 2025 with an economic impact of 13.255 billion dollars; and there were 4.88 million cruise passengers, 13 percent more than in the same period last year.
