Indigenous leaders called on working communities in Peru’s Puno region to reject an election victory from Keiko Fujimori, the “far-right enemy of the people" and daughter of former president and dictator Alberto Fujimori. Puno has swung overwhelmingly in favor of Fujimori’s left-wing opponent Roberto Sanchez, who captured over 86% of the votes in the region. Results from Peru’s presidential runoffs on Sunday, June 7 have not yet been announced, with polls showing Fujimori and Sanchez neck and neck.
