After the first few (when they tried just, you know, shooting him) he didn’t so much “survive” the attempts as “sit back and watch the clown show”. The sea-mine oyster bed, making his beard fall out and the several variations on poisoned cigars are the most famous ones, but there was so much loony-tunes bullshit they tried. My favorite has always been the attempt to drop a grenade on him from a kite which was thwarted when it charlie-browned into a tree, but the plan to ship an assassin into his house nailed up in a crate is a close second (I don’t know if they ever actually went ahead with that one, but they talked about it a bunch).
