As a Portuguese I am disgusted. It is however a symptom of the massive increase in anti migration sentiment here, and by extension, a lot of people are drawn into bullshit far right ideas. Portugal has become a terrible country to live, even though we are part of the European union, our quality of life is comparable to countries like Moldova, our wages are very low and the cost of living is extremely high. People are angry and a lack of political awareness and class consciousness drive them towards the simple solutions offered by the far right, and when predictable things get worse, they blamr migrants, the oldest trick in the book
