After he was banned from entering the UK over his criticisms of Israel, leftwing US news host Cenk Uygur described the moment he was told he couldn’t board his flight. Uygur, co-host of The Young Turks, was due to speak at SXSW London this week. Twitch streamer Hasan Piker was supposed to appear at the festival as well, but was also denied the right to enter the UK due to his opposition to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, Piker said. “We’re allowed to criticise anything we like except the government of Israel,” Uygur said. “If you don’t think that’s insane, there’s something wrong with you.”
