Of the top 10 busiest international airports in the US that’ll leave:

    • Miami
    • Atlanta *
    • Dallas/Fort Worth *
    • Houston *
    • Dulles **

    * Have policies that limit involvement with federal law enforcement/immigration, though not to the level of an official sanctuary city.

** Dulles incorporated area is literally just 80% of the airport and nothing else so not really even a city though Washington DC is a sanctuary city.

So yeah, you’d lose the entire west coast, NYC area, and possibly DC. Basically all international travel would be shuffled through Florida, Georgia, and Texas before having to hop to your final destination.

It turns out we put airports where a lot of people live. A lot of people live in cities. A lot of people benefit from the composition of cities. A lot of people recognize the benefit of the composition of cities. And a lot of people who recognize the benefit of the composition of cities don’t like the Fed trying to destroy that.
