Activists deported by Israel were beaten with batons by Spanish police officers upon arrival at Bilbao airport at the weekend. Four members of the Global Sumud Flotilla were reportedly detained by the Basque regional police on allegations of civil disobedience. Protests erupted in Bilbao on Sunday after footage of the activists being beaten was widely shared on social media.
