“MPs shouldn’t be drinking on the job.” At Prime Minister’s Questions, Green MP Hannah Spencer asked Keir Starmer whether he thinks MPs should be entitled to cheap alcohol in Westminster. Spencer made headlines some weeks ago when she told Politics Joe that “you can smell the alcohol when people are in between votes”. Defending her position, Spencer told the Guardian: “I don’t think it’s much to ask for an MP to be sober when they vote on decisions that affect everyone else.”
