
The nuclear power industry is currently promoting designs for small modular reactors (SMRs) that will supposedly be cheaper, safer, and faster to build than older nuclear power plants. Bill Gates and Amazon are investing in the technology.

If you are going to claim that SMRs are a dead end, you are going to have to come up with something far more convincing than “there’s no real world data to prove it will work that way in practice.” Of course there’s no real world data. None are in operation yet. That’s the point of building the first couple before building a fleet of thousands.
