Polanski hammered by MSM over house share

The scandal of Zack Polanski’s unpaid council tax rumbles on, but there’s been a new twist. The Green leader is now living in a £2m house in London. The dreadful hypocrite, how dare he! Oh wait, it’s a house share? Well, now his refusal to grow up casts severe doubt on his ability to lead the country.

All we know is that we should definitely be furious with Polanski. Meanwhile, nobody should pay attention to the fact that Farage and his partner shelled out £1.4m and £900,000 to buy outright two houses, respectively, just months after he received an undeclared, untaxed ‘gift’ from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne.

Polanski’s houseboat of fear and dread

The Times originally broke the Polanski council tax story. It hinged on the supposition that Polanski and his partner had spent the last three years living, primarily, on a houseboat in the Lee Valley Marina in Waltham Forest.

As the Canary previously wrote, if the boat was their main residence, the pair should have been paying council tax on it. This appears not to have been the case. However, if it wasn’t their main residence, Polanski shouldn’t have been registered to vote in the area. In fact, this could even be a breach of electoral law.

Dan Neidle, a tax expert, dig some digging into Polanski’s dirty laundry (no, seriously). He stated that “no reason to believe” the unpaid tax was “intentional or dishonest.” He also stated his belief that the boat would be Band A — the lowest level of council tax — meaning that three years of tax could add up to around £4000.

Mysteriously, these latter tidbits of information were missing from the BBC’sreporting on the matter.

The new attack line

Meanwhile, the mainstream media has apparently found its next attack line. You see, the Green Party leader is reportedly living in a £2m house, greedy fat cat that he is. Or, at least, he’s renting a room in a 5-bedroom house, like some kind of destitute student. You know, just pick whichever makes you angriest.

LBCran with the headline:

Polanski ‘staying in £2m house’ after admitting underpaying council tax on houseboat

The Sunused:

TAXING TIMES Zack Polanski ‘staying at £2m house’ – after admitting to underpaying council tax for THREE years in latest blunder

The Timesran with:

Zack Polanski staying at £2m house after saying he may owe council tax

The article went on to state that:

Zack Polanski has been staying at a £2 million property in Hackney linked to a senior Green Party politician after admitting he may have failed to pay council tax for three years, The Times can reveal.

The Green leader is staying at the five-bedroom property in the east London borough with Alastair Binnie-Lubbock, 40, co-leader of the Greens on Hackney council and grandson of the late Liberal Democrat peer Lord Avebury.

Everyone’s definitely going to react to this new information in a level-headed manner, right?

Bloody fat cat bohemians in shared London houses

On 13 May, Polanski criticised Wes Streeting following his dramatic (but unsurprising) resignation. The Green leader called for labour to institute rent controls and nationalise the water supply.

Naturally, this call for an ostensibly left-wing party to put out left-wing policies had the ever-dependably uninformed Piers Morgan up in arms the next day:

BREAKING: Tax-dodging liar living in £2m house demands redistribution of wealth…

Unfortunately for Morgan, this attack line fell somewhat flat, given that Polanski is renting a room in the bloody place. Its like saying someone is living in a £12m property if they rent a tower-block flat in London. Is it technically true? Yes. Does the person making the statement look ridiculous? Also yes.

Trying a different tack, political and current affairs commentator Lin Mei posted:

Zack Polanski has no dependants / children from what we know, why does he live like a student at 45? House share in a terraced town house with 5 others and you’re nearly 50…. Is he a struggling actor or musician who refuses to grow up?

I mean it’s totally his choice, but how can you run a country if you’ve never ran a household which is yours/ by yourself or with your dependant family/partner, understand what holding down a long term career is like, never opened a business with staff/ understand profit and loss, don’t own a house…… what adult things can he relate to and understand.

Meanwhile, with typical *GB News-*brand eloquence, presenter Camilla Tominey asked:

Is he still at uni?

The obvious thing to point out here is the complete and utter incoherence of the criticism from MSM. Is Polanski a tax-dodging millionaire living the high life? Failing that, is he a childish forever-student who won’t act like a grownup?

Pretty please be angry

We don’t know if he acts too rich or too poor, but good God we’re angry about it! Aren’t you angry about it? Get angry about it now, please.

Definitely don’t mind the fact that there’s a housing crisis on. Ignore the fact that living in a house-share is the more environmentally friendly option for the fucking Green Party leader. You know, the Green Party that’s also being criticised for abandoning its environmentalist principles.

Social commentator Narinder Kaur pointed out the glaring hypocrisy on display:

Zack Polanski didn’t pay the right council tax. He’s going to pay the money back. Nigel Farage took an undeclared donation of £5 million, and at around the same time his gf magically found nearly £1m for a house for him in Clacton – cash, no mortgage – can we do that next please?

Clearly, this is just further proof of what we’ve been told for months — Polanski and Farage are 100% definitely the same, and we should really be angry at the Green leader for failing to look, act like, or actually be a proper crook. At least Farage sounds like a real slime ball.
