Anti-genocide activists smashed windows, sprayed red paint and blocked an office entrance this week at the premises of several firms linked to an Isaraeli weapons company. People Against Genocide targeted a building in Birmingham on Wednesday that they said housed the offices of both Chubb Insurance and Sompo, which owns Aspen Insurance. In London, activists from the group blocked the entrance to Chubb’s UK headquarters.  Both Chubb and Aspen provide employee liability insurance to Elbit Systems or its subsidiaries, which supplies weapons to Israel’s military that are used in its genocide against the people of Gaza. The group has targeted Chubb on multiple occasions because it insures Elbit subsidiary UAV Engines, a manufacturer of drone parts. In Bristol, activists vandalised the exterior of an office for Danish-owned DSV, a logistics firm that has shipped arms for Elbit. “Elbit Systems builds Israeli weapons in Britain which are used to commit genocide in Gaza,” a People Against Genocide spokesperson said. They do this with complete impunity and with the backing of firms like Chubb Insurance. Without the insurance provided by the firm, Elbit’s criminal operations in Britain would not be possible.”
