Israel has moved its illegal ‘yellow line’ in Gaza, meaning it has now restricted Palestinians’ access to 70% of their own territory.

This is up from 53% in October when the so-called ‘ceasefire’ came into effect.

Israel carving up Palestine

Israel has created large ‘no-go zones’ and issued forced displacement orders, which means that many Palestinians are unable to return home.

In southern Gaza, the IOF has declared much of Rafah a no-go zone and placed it under forced displacement orders by the Israeli military since late March.

In the North, nearly all of Gaza City is under similar orders. Only small pockets in the northwest are still exempt.

Similarly, it has declared the entire area east of the Shujayea neighbourhood and along the Israeli border a restricted zone.

In total, 60% of Gaza is now behind Israel’s ‘yellow line’, which is essentially under illegal control of the IOF.

The additional 10% is under forced evacuation orders.

However, it’s all one and the same – ethnic cleansing.

🟡Israel’s Yellow Line in Gaza has shifted. Israel now controls 59% of the territory, up from 53% in October when the “ceasefire” came into effect. The IDF is entrenching its presence in the area, so the Yellow Line could become a new de facto permanent border 🧵 pic.twitter.com/3kutPyyfLn

Humanitarian crisis

Israel’s illegal line forces more than two million Gazans into less than half of Gaza’s territory. Israel’s moving the line also means that many essential services, such as water points and healthcare sites, are no longer accessible.

As the Canarypreviously reported:

The areas under Israeli control include some of the most vulnerable parts of Gaza. They contain the Strip’s primary agricultural lands, which many families rely on for food. They also include most of the main water wells and the central water network supplying the territory. Control over these areas has become a tool of collective pressure, affecting access to both food and water.

As a result, agricultural activity has almost completely ground to a halt. Livelihoods have been destroyed at a time when hunger and thirst are rapidly increasing and the humanitarian crisis is deepening.

The ‘no-go zone’ is literally just a kill zone for the IOF.

The expansion of the Line has swallowed many essential services, such as water points and healthcare sites, and, more importantly, has cost dozens of people their lives. For the IDF, the Yellow Line is a “kill zone” with extremely permissive rules of engagement.

The line is not even fully marked and is constantly moving. This means many civilians are killed simply for being in the wrong place.

People in Gaza often do not know where the line is, and there are many cases of people being killed while near it, carrying out daily activities such as getting water or collecting firewood. The IDF’s rules of engagement permit firing at people “messing with the ground” near YL.

As our soldier testifier described it:“…anyone who enters it is sentenced to death […] tons of civilians are killed [because] they [were] simply in the wrong place”. The Line is constantly moving and is partially unmarked.https://t.co/ay9kbt2rCd

Long-term occupation

Only a few months ago, the IOF claimed the ‘yellow line’ was a step towards them withdrawing from Gaza.

Of course, that was never going to be the case. Since then, the genocidal IOF has built 32 outposts and 10 miles worth of ground barriers. The IOF has equipped the outposts with lighting and electricity, communications masts, and excavators, suggesting it plans to occupy them long-term.

According to Haaretz, there is currently no detailed plan to withdraw from it.

Eyal Zamir, Israel’s chief of general staff, openly admitted in December that:

Gaza’s Yellow Line is the new borderline, a forward defensive line [for the Gaza border communities], and the IDF’s attack line.

This is ethnic cleansing, plain and simple.

In true Zionist fashion, IOF soldiers have been seen taking selfies at checkpoints marked with ‘death to Arabs’

Israel is literally just a genocidal death cult.

Importantly, there is supposedly a ‘ceasefire’ in place, which Israel, as usual, has completely ignored.

‘Yellow-line’ is code for ‘ethnic cleansing’, ‘stealing land’ and ‘genocide’. All terms which Israel is very familiar with. If nothing else, this further proves that the goal was never defeating Hamas, but stealing sovereign Palestinian territory and murdering countless civilians.

The IOF are blood thirsty terrorists who will continue systematically destroying anything that stands in their way.
