THE Metropolitan Police marksman who shot Chris Kaba is expected to know by the end of July whether he will have to face gross misconduct proceedings.
Sergeant Martyn Blake, who shot the 24-year-old in 2022, was cleared of murder at an Old Bailey trial but is waiting to discover whether he will be subject to a disciplinary hearing.
Daniel Simpson, a solicitor for watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), told an inquest hearing today that the body expects to make a decision whether to proceed with the case by July 31.
