WOMEN’S CRICKET: Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of England’s upcoming ODI series with New Zealand as a precautionary measure after sustaining a minor left calf tear.

Sciver-Brunt picked up the injury playing for the Blaze against Warwickshire, and following a scan on Saturday afternoon, she was advised to rest ahead of a further assessment in the coming days.

Vice-captain Charlie Dean will join the squad and skipper the side for the three-match New Zealand series, with Maia Bouchier called up as batting cover.
