THE RMT said today it would oppose racism “wherever it rears its ugly head” in a message of solidarity to Sir Sadiq Khan after it was revealed he was the primary target of a foiled mass shooting.

Alfie Coleman was found guilty on Thursday of planning the attack on a mosque and the London mayor, before he was caught by an MI5 sting operation.

The 21-year-old was apprehended as he attempted to buy a semi-automatic pistol, five magazines and 200 rounds of ammunition.
