“Trump and the billionaires backing him are few, and we are many.” Taking a cue from Minneapolis’s massive anti-ICE shutdown in January, San Francisco high school and college students are leading the call for walkouts across the country on May 1 as part of the “no work, no school, no shopping” day of action. Along with Trump’s anti-immigrant policies, the students are protesting school administrators making six figure salaries as the cost of education skyrockets and funneling tuition and taxpayer funds to tech companies that aid U.S. wars abroad.
