Israeli soldiers have destroyed solar panels supplying the village of Debel in southern Lebanon with water and electricity. According to the Lebanese National News Agency, military forces also destroyed homes, roads and olive trees in the area. Al Jazeera journalist Heidi Pett wrote on X: “Israel has been systematically destroying the essential infrastructure for life in south Lebanon.” “Even outside areas where it is occupying and detonating homes, Israel seeks to prevent return by making life unliveable for civilians.” Last week, an Israeli solider was filmed smashing a statue of Jesus in the same village. The Israeli Defence Forces have launched an investigation into the destruction of the solar panels, according to Israeli media.
