This crisis of a lack of sufficient surplus value is extending the competition between capitalists into a contest between states. Every state is embroiled in an existential struggle within the imperialist pecking order. The only "way out" lies in massive destruction of capital, in the hope of being able to usher in a new round of profit-making.
