Labour peer Margaret Hodge said there was “nothing wrong” with Downing Street looking around for a new ambassadorial role for Keir Starmer’s disgraced communications chief Matthew Doyle. Doyle was suspended from Labour after it was exposed that he campaigned for a councillor convicted of child sex offences. On Novara Live, Zarah Sultana points out that Hodge, Labour’s Anti-Corruption Champion, held shares in a family venture partnership in apartheid-era South Africa. “I think [Hodge] needs to find a new job,” concludes Sultana. “Perhaps Matthew Doyle can find one for her.”
