Zarah Sultana was suspended from the House of Commons today after calling Keir Starmer a “bare-faced liar” over the Peter Mandelson vetting scandal. The Your Party MP accused the prime minister of “gaslighting the nation,” and was ejected when she refused to withdraw the remarks. Starmer, meanwhile, admitted he “should not have appointed” Mandelson, and apologised to victims of Jeffrey Epstein after it emerged the former peer had failed Foreign Office security vetting checks. He insists he was kept in the dark by officials. Reform’s Lee Anderson was also thrown out earlier in the same session for the same reason.
