The Second World War officially ended in 1945. Despite episodes of mass struggle in a few select countries, there was no widespread working class movement to end it like that in Russia in 1917, and Germany in 1918. The war only ended with the total victory of one imperialist camp over another (“unconditional surrender”) which brought about a new world order.
