The latest statement by NTF-Elcac Executive Director Ernesto Torres, in response to our takedown of their fabricated term ‘spy-tagging’, is full of self-contradicting nonsense. Even in trying to wage propaganda war versus the revolutionary movement, they reveal their own ineptness as they grasp at straws with illogical and delusional claims. Their well-funded psywar machine can’t even hire better ghostwriters and publicists.

For one, his use of the term “extra-judicial killings” to describe the New People’s Army (NPA)’s successful punitive actions is an unwitting admission that the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is its own separate government, abiding by its own constitution and legal system. Laughably, the whole premise of NTF-Elcac’s statement contradicts this as it tries to subsume the CPP under the constitution of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP). Torres writes like a drunk, he can’t seem to make up his mind. In reality, it is the GRP who is notorious for extra-judicial killings, as its previous killer-in-chief Duterte was even tried in The Hague, Netherlands because of his crimes against humanity.

Through the very act of responding to our statement, the NTF-Elcac also admits that they are behind the successive complaints to the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) versus “spy-tagging” led by so-called peace advocates, like Sambayanan, Negros Island Regional Federation of Peace Advocates and others. These plead for “respecting human rights” and “international law” are just smokescreens for their own practice of using civilians as cannon fodder in their war against the masses.

The reality that the revolutionary armed struggle has persisted for six decades in spite of the superior armed strength of the reactionary army cements its belligerent status. The sheer endurance and fighting will of our Red fighters are source of inspiration for other proletarian and national liberation movements all over the world.

Moreover, the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) even engages in diplomatic and proto-diplomatic talks with various other nations which is proof of its prestige as a separate government with clear political goals and program, as drafted in the Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-economic Reforms (CASER). Torres seems to also ignore the fact that the revolutionary forces through the NDFP even engaged in peace talks with the GRP in previous administrations, achieving milestones agreements such as the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (CARHIHL).

The GRP can’t claim exclusivity of what is ‘constitutional’, as if it’s the only government recognized by the Filipino people. The broad masses, in reality, already see through the ‘democratic’ illusion of GRP’s legal system. It is morally bankrupt, has no legitimacy, and serves only big comprador-landlords and to further entrench imperialist reins on the country’s politics, culture, and economy. Only the rich can attain swift and impartial justice in the reactionary government. So it is hysterical that these crooks from NTF-Elcac would insist we bow down to their rotten system.

For the CPP, revolutionary justice is not mere rhetoric or slogan but a living system that is inclusive and participated in by the masses themselves. Meanwhile, the NTF-Elcac paints punitive actions by the NPA as merely attack on spies or intelligence assets. While that is true for some cases, the revolutionary court also targets rapists, drug peddlers, despotic landlords, and outright criminals. Most of the victims could not achieve justice if coursed through the GRP courts, as it remains rotten to the core.

It is no surprise then that peasants and farm workers in the countryside would trust the NPA led by the CPP to try their perpetrators thru the revolutionary court. Torres is in denial of the fact that despite their persistent smear campaigns, organs of political power are continuing to expand and deepen even amid AFP’s focused military operations.

All these verbal tirades by the military and the anti-communist taskforce is just a distraction from the growing instability of the ruling class that is worsened by the sharpening inter-imperialist contradictions. They are trying to conceal their growing frustration at AFP’S sheer inability to decisively defeat so-called “remnants” and “dismantled” fronts of the NPA. In their desperation, they even concoct fictive scenarios, wasting bullets by aiming at civilian communities, like what happened in Calatrava, Negros Occidental last April 6.

They are scurrying to project their power as the AFP is slowly shifting its focus to “external defense”, at the push of its imperialist master US as one of its military outpost.

No amount of cheap and drunken talk from Torres can take away from the superiority of the revolutionary government and its legal system that truly embodies the democratic interests of the toiling masses and broad sectors of Filipino people.
