On Tuesday, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Florida held a press conference calling out Gov. Ron DeSantis’s signing of House Bill 1471, which opens the door for a handful of State officials to designate organizations such as CAIR-FL as “domestic terrorists" to silence opposition to Israel. The legislation comes just four months after DeSantis signed an executive order designating CAIR-Florida as a “terrorist” organization, which a federal judge temporarily blocked. DeSantis traveled to sign the bill Monday at the University of South Florida campus, located in a Palestinian-American neighborhood of Tampa.
