In January of 2024, during his winter break at New York University—and having never yet written for an official publication—reporter Jasper Nathaniel decided to travel to the West Bank. As a Jewish-American, he knew he could easily enter the region, and with Israeli settler violence increasing dramatically after the Oct. 7 attacks, there was no time to wait for an official assignment.
