“Oh, I’ll apologise for everything that’s happened in the past couple of hundred years.” Reform leader Nigel Farage became irritable and sarcastic when asked if he would say sorry to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire for insensitive comments made by a senior member of his party. Former Reform housing spokesperson Simon Dudley said that while the 2017 disaster, which killed 72 people, was a tragedy, “everyone dies in the end”. He made the comments while criticising safety regulations brought in after the fire. Dudley was removed from his position over the comments but does not appear to have been expelled from the party.
