President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisor has compared his struggles to those of Jesus Christ. Paula White said Trump has been “betrayed, arrested and falsely accused” like Christ himself, echoing “a familiar pattern that our Lord and saviour showed us”. White’s comments seem to compare charges against Trump – which include his 2024 conviction on 34 counts of felony business fraud in connection with hush money payments to an adult film star – to the charges made against Jesus before he was crucified.
