The prejudice in that article’s author…

Presuming that dolphins are stupid, & then being surprised by any evidence of intentional-language, is prejudice.

Universe doesn’t work that way…

Universe neither presumes guilt nor innocence: it allows evidence to enforce decision, aka natural selection, & whatever natural selection decides, then that’s the universe’s truth.

Neutral, not biased.

What Science, not scientism, would do, is neither presume genius nor stupidity on dolphins, & let the evidence speak, itself.

That they’ve each their own name, & use it the same way we do, both for self-identification, & for calling specific-others, is language.

That itself sets a “floor” on the sophistication of their language.

Maybe their language is basic, maybe it is rich.

But it is social language, as the evidence has already established.

that they’ve also words for specific other things, like researcher-audio-recordings-of-dolphins, indicates a higher “floor”.

Quit presuming & trying-to-unconsciously-enforce the they’re-stupid pre-judging, or quit claiming science, & admit scientism.

Prejudice isn’t science, & never has been.

Pretending it is science, is gaslighting.

Some of us are tired of prejudice’s misframing of everything.

For anybody wanting to understand just how pervasive scientism’s prejudice is, go dig into the books on plant-intelligence, & see how the behaviors of intelligence are demonstrated by plants, even though they haven’t “nervous-systems” the way we have.

Rejecting the evidence, as mainstream/establishment does, because mainstream/establishment only allows that evidence if there’s one of OUR kind’s nervous-systems producing it … that is blunt prejudice, too.

The prejudice of “male adult is what ‘human’ means: medicine doesn’t need to consider women’s condition or validity” bullshit also is prejudice.

It’s endless.

Endless prejudice-is-“science” & nobody’s force-dismantling it at the pace, or scale, required to make our race VIABLE in The Great Filter.

“Just sitting drunk on the traintracks, pretending that the thrumming in the tracks isn’t an oncoming train”, rightttt?

Deserving of humankind-DarwinAward, is what that is.

TRUE Science, TRUE Journalism ( they are the same thing, just different subjects ), TRUE RuleOfJustLaw ( instead of rule-of-establishment/legalism/authority/money/wealth/privilege/gender-supremacy/other-privilege-incumbencies ), are REQUIRED for us to be able to dismantle the ignoring/denying which created our world’s perfect-storm of extinguish-our-viability conditions.

Pretending & making-believing isn’t good-enough.

& the fact that the dolphins call-out their-own “I’m here!” name when those researchers take them aside for assessment, does indicate distress: they’re asking their friends to come to them!
