Series of punitive actions in Escalante City, Negros Occidental are proof of unity between the masses and their people’s army. Even amidst the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)’s highly budgeted machinery on black propaganda especially on social media, people have continued to trust the NPA because of its actual service: in terms of revolutionary justice and their socio-economic interests.

In the past years, #DiMasaligan79IB made a dramatic narrative on what transpired on the Feb 21, 2023 encounter in Barangay Pinapugasan, Escalante City. They have described a single defensive encounter wherein the unit has successfully maneuvered as “series of clashes” and a “decisive battle.” This is a facade to their lack of actual accomplishment and failure to deliver their projection to annihilate the NPA.

In desperate attempt to save face, AFP’s mouthpiece has resurfaced an interview of Dario Dayanan—long been discredited in the movement because of his incompetence and unwillingness to rectify from his organizational weaknesses; Dayanan went absent without leave (AWOL) several times as he could not handle disiplinary actions concerning his illicit affairs. Ever since, he is no longer in service of the masses, but for corrupt military officials with inept work ethic like him. Truly proving the saying “Birds of a feather, flock together. ”

In contrast to their transactional unity based on self interest, the Party, the NPA, and all the sectors in the movement led by the workers and the farmers as its main force, continuously and creatively forward the revolution. The martyrs who have already made their last sacrifice will forever be etched in every revolutionary and generation.

Meanwhile, traitors in the revolution are only a handful and will soon lose their relevance and use to the enemy.
