Ava is a German-Pakistani activist based in New Zealand. She was invited to serve on the interim steering committee of the Global Alliance for Palestine, founded by Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, Jeremy Corbyn, Yanis Varoufakis et al. and was a panelist at its inaugural conference in July 2025. Ava participated in the Global March to Gaza in Egypt and has been a key organiser at the Palestine Solidarity Network Aotearoa since the start of the genocide, focusing on weekly protests, BDS actions and Palestine film screenings. She co-organised the 18-day hunger strike of her partner Will Alexander pressuring the New Zealand government to reinstate UNRWA funding and withdraw its troops from the Red Sea. Together with Will, she is now working on a documentary about the Conscience’s attempt to

break Israel’s illegal blockade.

“Once ordinary people realise how powerful they are, the ones in power are in trouble. Israel’s genocide in Gaza is awakening millions of us to the moral bankruptcy of our so-called leaders. No one is too small or too insignificant to contribute to a better world. Do your bit and do it well. The result is out of our control.”
