At least two Palestinian brothers were shot dead and three others were injured, in an attack launched by illegal Israeli settlers in the village of Qaryut, in the northern West Bank governorate of Nablus on Monday, March 2.
The slain Palestinians were identified as Mohammad Mu’amar (52) and Faheem Mu’amar (47), while the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that a 15-year-old boy was among those wounded.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the murder of the two siblings raised the death toll of Palestinians killed by illegal Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023, to 39.
As per a recent report released by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), at least 1,058 Palestinians, 23 of them children, were killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, between October 7, 2023, and February 28, 2026, largely by Israeli forces.
IOF escalates violence in occupied West Bank amid its aggression on Iran
A surge in violence by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in the occupied territory has also been reported during the course of the current week, amid the ongoing US-Israeli aggression on Iran.
The IOF carried out a series of raids and arrested many Palestinians in different parts of the West Bank, while restriction on movement has been further tightened with all barriers, checkpoints and iron walls being closed in various areas.
It is worth noting that the IOF had implemented similar violent measures across the West Bank during its former 12-day aggression against Iran in June 2025.

Palestinian Authority labels the assault in Qaryut as “an act of organized terrorism”
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement on Monday, denouncing the Israeli settler attack in Qaryut as “an act of organized terrorism”.
The ministry held “the extremist Israeli government fully responsible, along with the armed colonial gangs” for the incident.
It also accused these gangs of functioning “as an executive instrument of terror within a broader colonial project aimed at eradicating and forcibly displacing the Palestinian people from their land, as well as undermining the foundations of their steadfastness and survival.”
“The policy of ethnic cleansing pursued by the occupation authorities, through killings, intimidation, colonial expansion, land confiscation, forced displacement, and arbitrary detention, constitutes a continuation and perpetuation of the crime of the Nakba, this time carried out in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem,” the ministry emphasized.
