The Israeli military on Thursday ordered the evacuation of Dahiyeh, the predominately Shia southern suburb of Beirut, leaving its 400,000 residents scrambling to flee. Along with the IDF order, far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich posted on social media Thursday, “The southern suburbs will become like Khan Younis,” referring to the city in southern Gaza.
