Kabataang Makabayan (KM)-Negros extends its red salute and commends the guerrilla units of Apolinario Gatmaitan Command-New People’s Army Regional Operations Command (AGC-NPA) that has carried out punitive actions against military assets and criminals.
In recent years, communities have experienced relentless attacks from the fascist Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) through the disguised local intel assets who obtain information through intimidation, threats, and harassment. These sanctions implemented by the NPA are long demanded by the masses.
As expected, the mouthpiece of the AFP has called the said punitive actions as “killing spree”, “terrorism “, and recently, as “spy tagging” as if deflecting their own red tagging and civilian targeting schemes.
Negrosanons know well that the judiciary system of the reactionary state is inept, corrupt, and elitist.
Through organs of political power, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), and the NPA, the masses have relied on their own revolutionary people’s court for decades. The people’s court handles two types of cases: one involves internal contradictions among the people, and the other between the people and the ruling class or the reactionary state. Due to their different nature, they require different methods of resolution.
Contradictions between the people and the ruling class and their protectors are often through armed confrontation.
The case on local intel assets depends on the kind of threat or damage they bring to the revolutionary work of the people. By experience, most of the intelligence reports are followed by full operation of the AFP. This means they have directly participated in hostilities, as their information or direct guidance leads to the militarization of the area, ambushes, deaths and other human rights violations. Therefore, intelligence assets are not considered to be in a civilian status.
The AFP can, and have been denying affiliations with these intel assets once punished by the NPA and the people’s court. Them secretly recruiting and offering monthly pay for locals to be their assets has been long exposed and rejected. Hence, AFP calling these punitive actions as “civilian killings” is an attempt to blur the lines between revolutionary justice and mere senseless killings.
In line with this, the Kabataang Makabayan and the revolutionary youth in schools and communities are committed to continue to educate on building people’s democratic power, armed struggle, and the Philippine society as a whole to combat the malicious and fake information disseminated by the AFP on the revolutionary movement. The students and youth should be exposed to and learn from their social realities, not the culture of impunity campaigned in campuses through red tagging seminars under the guise of so-called “youth summit.”
KM Negros encourages the youth to look deeply and critically into these issues—unite with the broad masses and join the NPA in the fight for genuine peace and justice.
