My name is Isaline Choury Amalric, I was born in Ajaccio on 28/12/1941.
I am the daughter of Maurice Choury (a leading figure in the Resistance, brother-in-law and comrade-in-arms of Danielle Casanova, He was actively involved in the Resistance in Corsica and wrote and launched the call to insurrection on 9 September 1943 in Ajaccio. I am also the niece of Danielle Casanova (an icon of the Resistance, elevated to the rank of National Heroine in 2009).

I taught for eight years at the Faculty of Arts in the University of Antananarivo. Upon my return to Paris, I joined François Mitterrand’s presidential campaign team, then worked from 1982 to 1995 at the Presidency of the Republic, as press officer until 1986, then as special advisor (appointment decree published in the JORF on 14 January 1986). Elysée duties: Studies and analyses, relations with the diplomatic press and communication between the Elysée and the Quai d’Orsay

After Jacques Chirac’s election in 1995, I returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a Special Advisor (Hors échelle B3) in the Geographic Coordination Department of the Directorate-General for Cultural, Scientific and Technical Relations.

Finally, after serving as Special Adviser to the Secretary General of the High Council for International Cooperation, I ended my career as Project Manager at the Interministerial Commission for Appeals against Visa Refusals.

I retired to southern Corsica, where I devote my days to continuing my historical research on deportation during the Second World War and on the resistance and liberation of Corsica on 9 September 1943, ten months before the mainland.

I organise meetings with pupils in secondary schools in Ajaccio and prepare shows with them. In Corsica and on the mainland, I present exhibitions and give lectures.
