Elisabeth Di Luca is an educator, researcher, and human rights activist with 14 years of experience in Education in Emergencies and International Cooperation. She has worked with children, families, and refugees in some challenging contexts — from the aftermath of the L’Aquila earthquake in Italy, to the Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon, to rural communities in Uganda. Holding degrees in cooperation, conflict management, and crisis response, she has also worked as a nonviolence trainer within the Italian Servizio Civile, Peace Corps programs, and the Italian Civil Protection.

Her research on resilience in emergency contexts, developed at the University of Malaga, led her to a deeper confrontation with the ways oppressive and colonial systems permeate not only conflict zones, but institutions themselves — and ultimately to leave the university due to its ties with Israel. Since October 2023, she has been an outspoken advocate for an end to the genocide in Gaza, actively involved in multiple solidarity collectives, including Voces Palestinas Málaga, weaving together direct action, testimony, and writing as practices of civic resistance and accountability. Elisabeth brings together her expertise in education, resilience, and critical analysis of oppressive structures, with a particular focus on Palestine and the conscious use of privilege in international solidarity.

“I want to use my white privilege to amplify the voice of the Palestinians. I don’t think I’m gonna save anyone; at most, I’m saving my own humanity.”
