Ahead of tomorrow’s crucial byelection in Gorton and Denton, activists from @GreenpeaceUK have taken over ads at bus stops to highlight Reform’s links to the Conservatives. Former Tory cabinet members Robert Jenrick, Suella Braverman and Nadhim Zahawi are among the defectors Reform has welcomed in 2026. Greenpeace have been highlighting how these former Tory politicians hold climate sceptical views or ties to the fossil fuel industry and threaten the fight against the climate crisis. In Thursday’s byelection, Reform’s candidate – who has faced accusations of racism throughout the campaign – is up against the Green party and Labour. The result could foreshadow a greater political re-alignment ahead of the local elections in May.
