At least 10 people were killed and 30 others were wounded in Israeli airstrikes on different areas in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley on Friday, February 20.

The aerial raids were carried out hours after an Israeli drone strike had targeted a building in Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon’s coastal city of Sidon, leaving two people killed and several others injured.

Material damage to the targeted facility and other nearby buildings was also reported, while local hospitals called for urgent blood donations to save those wounded in Ain al-Hilweh.

Israeli media outlets claimed that the attacked facility was a Hamas command center. However, Lebanese media outlets said that it was previously used by the Joint Palestinian Security Forces, which is a coalition of armed members affiliated with various Palestinian factions, before being rented by an individual, who has recently converted it into a kitchen for food aid distribution.

Friday’s attacks are part of the continuous Israeli violations of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the ceasefire deal, which Israel reached with Hezbollah in November 2024.

For many, the renewed onslaughts also expose Israel’s recurring efforts to destroy the morale of the peoples of the West Asia region during Ramadan.

It is worth noting that the Lebanese state filed a complaint with the United Nations last January, detailing a total of 2,036 violations committed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in Lebanon only during the last quarter of 2025.
