This week Mark Zuckerberg and Meta are on trial for harming young children by addicting them to social media. Whistleblowers have revealed that they knew for a long time how their algorithms could be damaging, and took advantage of people’s desire for connection anyway. At this week’s trial, taking place in California, Zuckerberg said in defense that he handled the issue "in a reasonable way.”

So they’re just gonna use this as a pretext to require government ID and/or facial scans in order to access social media, all “to protect the kids,” aren’t they?
