By World Peace Foundation – DR Congo Africa, Signed by the Founding Representative, Dr HC John Mukhuta Muhiana, February 19, 2026

The World Peace Foundation DR Congo Africa, based in Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba, expresses its deep concern regarding the project to build a U.S. military base in Gaza, as reported by World BEYOND War.

We affirm:

  • On the moral and legal level: Building bases on stolen land is a blatant violation of people’s rights and international law. Gaza, already scarred by war and occupation, must not become a new ground for militarization.
  • On the human level: The experience of U.S. bases around the world shows that they generate suffering, violence, impunity, and marginalization of local populations. We refuse to see the people of Gaza endure the same fate.
  • On the economic level: The hundreds of billions spent to maintain these bases could be invested in peace, sustainable development, and the fight against global hunger.
  • On the environmental level: A new base will only worsen ecological destruction in an already fragile region, contributing to a planetary disaster.

The World Peace Foundation DR Congo Africa calls upon:

  • The peoples of the world to unite in saying no to militarization and yes to peace.
  • Governments to invest in justice, solidarity, and international cooperation rather than in war.
  • International institutions to protect Gaza and its inhabitants against any new form of military occupation.

We firmly believe that world peace cannot be built on military bases, but on foundations of justice, dignity, and respect for human rights.
