The new spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, Abu Obaida, declared in a statement via his Telegram channel on Wednesday, February 11, the solidarity of the Palestinian people and their resistance with the Islamic Republic of Iran, its people, government, and leadership.

Abu Obaida warned that any aggression on Iran equals an aggression on the entire Muslim Ummah, which also constitutes “a violation of the sovereignty of an Islamic state, an attempt to impose the dictates of another nation on it, and an interference in its internal affairs”.
The Al-Qassam spokesperson further expressed his confidence in “the determination and steadfastness of the Iranian Armed Forces and the Revolutionary Guards, who taught the Zionist enemy lessons during Operation True Promise III in June 2025.”
“With God’s help, they are able to repel the aggression, exercise their natural and legitimate right to self-defense, and deliver harsh blows to the aggressors,” Abu Obaida stated.
He also affirmed that “the threats to which the Islamic Republic is exposed today, and the attacks and siege that preceded them, are a desperate attempt to take revenge from its great people and its resistance leadership” for standing by the Palestinian people, and because of its “direct and declared support” for the valiant Palestinian resistance.
“Thanks to God, and the support of the free people of the nation, our resistance was able to withstand the legendary battle of the Al-Aqsa Flood, break the arrogance of the Zionist enemy, and thwart all its declared goals,” Abu Obaida asserted.
Abu Obaida’s statements came after Iran had reportedly rejected US demands that the Islamic Republic end its support to its allies in the Axis of Resistance, including Hamas, as part of the ongoing talks between the two countries. Iran confirmed that the ongoing negotiations have been confined to its nuclear file.
Hamas is not the only ally in the Axis of Resistance that announced its support to Iran after weeks of US threats to attack the West Asia nation. Hezbollah also vowed to “carry out all the procedures and make all the preparations to confront” the intended US aggression against the Islamic Republic.
Trump seems to have chosen “negotiations under fire” once again as a strategy against Iran
Although Iran announced last week that the first round of its talks with the Trump administration concluded in a “very good” atmosphere, and that both sides agreed to the continuation of talks, Trump seems to have clinged to his “negotiations under fire” strategy.
International media outlets reported on Friday, February 13, that the United States sent its second aircraft carrier to the West Asia region to back up USS Abraham Lincoln, another aircraft carrier that had already arrived in the region late January after the tension between Washington and Tehran had escalated.
