The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement says Washington and Tel Aviv are fixated on Iran because the Islamic Republic stands in the way of their broader project to dominate the region.

Great to hear the opinion of a guy who’s human rights violations include:
- Using child soldiers and human shields
- Hostage-taking
- Diversion of international aid
- Abuse of women and children including forced marriage and sex slavery
- Murdering LGBTQ+ people
- Rape and torture of migrants
Personally none of these align with my values, nor does his desire for a “curse upon the Jews” as the houthi’s slogan claims in the background of the headline photo.
And the houthis are incredibly unpopular with Yemenis:
A survey conducted in 2024 by the Sanaa Center for Strategic Studies found that only 8% of Yemenis in Houthi-controlled areas had a positive view of the Houthi movement, compared to 3% in both government-controlled areas and contested areas.
