San Francisco educators, parents and community members held a press conference this morning to announce that the United Educators of San Francisco would officially go on strike Monday, February 9 for the first time in 47 years. Over 6,000 educators are in the union, and their demands include fully-staffed schools, dependent healthcare for educators, and safe, stable learning and working conditions, after the district failed to reach an agreement in 11 months of bargaining.
