Priti Patel has had a meltdown on LBC when confronted by Lewis Goodall with the realities of post-Brexit Britain. Unsurprisingly, the far-right Tory MP seems incapable of showing an ounce of humility for the inevitable international isolation that followed their divisive campaign to split from the EU.
Goodall argued that breaking the collaborative working relationship has left the UK to face Russian threats alone, since we are now “out of the room” on EU decision-making. He also highlights the futile relationship with our so-called “US ally” Trump, which Patel and other far-right politicians deliberately pursued to draw us closer to. Now, Washington is increasingly seen as a hostile and aggressive administration that the UK can no longer work with.
However, the dame has absolutely refused to take accountability or show any humility for her role in undermining our international security:

Priti Patel
The LBCinterview in full reads:
Lewis Goodall: Would it not be better, Dame Priti, to actually recognise that the world has changed a lot since 2016? And in fact, there will be people who argue that the advocates of Brexit, such as yourself, ought to show more contrition and to apologise for taking us into a world where we are now entirely isolated. We cannot rely on the United States. We’ve got a Russian aggressor on our doorstep. We’re now out of the room when European decisions are being taken. And you and your colleagues have left us entirely isolated because all of your assumptions about how the world would be have been proven to be entirely wrong.
Dame Priti Patel: So, Lewis, thank you for your just political lecture there.
Goodall: It’s not a political lecture. It’s a perfectly fair question, there Priti.
Patel: Well, all questions are fair. But let me just say this. I absolutely refute that. I really do.
Goodall: Which bit?
Patel appeared desperate to point to the fact the UK can make its ‘own decisions now’. Nevertheless, that ability is pretty pointless if you have little to no apparent leverage. Funnily enough, leverage the EU relationship had once provided us with, as Goodall points out, which has been successfully employed by the remaining members of the EU.
Patel: You know, on the basis that we have, we are able now to go around the world, not be tied in. You mentioned Europe, the EU. We were paying into European institutions, billions upon billions. And what we’re getting out of that.
Goodall: Now we’re out of the room.
Patel: We are not out of the room. We see our European allies on NATO. Britain led the way on Ukraine. You cannot say we were isolated. Britain was at the forefront of setting up the joint expeditionary force that was protecting Europe, quite frankly, from Russian…
Goodall: It was a threat of the European bazooka from President Macron that deterred Trump.
Again, Patel deflects like other Tory MP’s. Another right-wing MP desperately avoids talking about the atrocious impact of their policies given the global political climate we are facing now. Instead, she tries to focus the conversation on ‘once upon a time’, point blank refusing to engage in such a ‘woke thing’ as cause and effect:
Patel: No, that was not true. I’m sorry. I was in government at the time. I fundamentally dispute that.
Goodall: No, I’m talking about now. I’m talking about now.
Patel: You talk about now. So… Everybody’s spoken in defence of Greenland, but your point to say that it’s all Brexit’s fault is completely wrong.
Goodall: I’ve said that the assumptions that you and your colleagues made about how the world would be have proven to be entirely wrong.
Patel: No, they haven’t.
Oh my @pritipatel

It’s high time to unmask elites: no more ‘rehabilitation’
This interview highlights the very real political issue facing the UK public. The current stock of UK MP’s have all seen fit to prioritise their own self-interest, ego, and superiority over and above our citizens interests. Whether it’s the Tories or Labour, both have become partners in churning out right-wing policies. Furthermore, with both parties completely in the pocket of genocidal pro-Israel lobbyists, the case for a radical overhaul of British democracy has never been stronger.
Well, Atlee’s government of ’48 was arguably the last time this country saw an actual socialist Labour Party. Working-class politicians fought to ensure the state would create the conditions that allowed the British public to thrive. From the introduction of state welfare and the groundbreaking launch of the National Health Service, the UK became world-leaders in economic growth and social mobility. The super-rich, likely descendants of old feudal lords, intentionally tore down that model, buying state assets cheaply and lining the pockets of Thatcherite politicians.
It is clear that we must seize this spirit of change now to free the 99% from the grip of the right-wing billionaires who bind us.
A radical mission that, at present, only Your Party’s Grassroots Left Slate candidate Zarah Sultana appears to champion:
The answer is “no”.
Every pound spent on bombs and tanks is money stolen from our schools and hospitals.
Anti-imperialism isn’t vibes, it’s a commitment to confronting empire.
If you recognise NATO as an imperialist war machine that we should leave immediately, join Your… https://t.co/t0sHNogs4M
