The International Jewish Antizionist Network (IJAN) will be picketing what it calls the “Zionist restaurant” Miznon tomorrow, Friday 9 January 2026.

Miznon restaurant

The group is calling for supporters to join its protest outside the Miznon/Erev restaurant near Portobello Road. In its announcement, IJAN explains the restaurant’s Zionist ownership and the extent of staff involvement in Israel’s genocide in Gaza:

[Miznon is] owned by Zionist Shahar Segal and Eyal Shani and join us as we demand that Zionist institutions and companies be kicked out of our neighborhoods!

Co-owner Segal was the official spokesperson for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) a mercenary company created by Israel and the U.S., who shot and killed Palestinians queuing up for food at their distribution sites.

The other co-owner, Shani is an Israeli chef who has posted extremist Zionist propaganda online and has cooked for Israeli troops on the Gaza Strip border, fuelling their killing spree while offering no sustenance to the victims.

Three hundred of Shani’s employees have participated in the genocide. Shani expresses anxiety about their fate “in the depths of Gaza.” He provides 3,000 meals a day to Israeli soldiers to enable the slaughter: “I have never felt so proud to be an Israeli as I do in these moments. It’s pure love to be part of this small, yet huge, organism called the Israeli people.”

Shani has said “It is the duty of each and every one of us to do everything in our power to annihilate these despicable murderers, not leaving a trace of their existence so that this NEVER happens again.”

SHAME!

Miznon says that it offers “an authentic taste of Israeli” food. It describes ‘pita’ bread as the star of this ‘Israeli’ menu. The same bread is widely known as ‘arabic bread’, ‘Syrian bread’ or ‘Lebanese bread’, giving a hint of its origins in the Levant – and of ‘Israel made the desert bloom’ lies.

A similar peaceful demo at the restaurant last month (11 December 2025) saw a Zionist mob of 25-30 thugs threaten and attack anti-genocide protesters. The mob, gathered by mostly non-Jewish, far-right Zionist group ‘Our Fight UK’, had arrived from physically attacking anti-genocide protesters at King’s College. Footage shot by the far right gives a hint of their level of aggression:

Police on the scene predominantly sided with the mob.

Strength in numbers among the peaceful humanitarian protesters will be a vital factor in keeping everyone safe and deterring far-right aggression.
