Supporters gathered on Wednesday 7 January at Parliament Square in London to protest against the Starmer regime’s continued refusal to meet lawyers representing hunger strikers for Palestine. Some of them have not eaten for more than 60 days – IRA hunger-striker Bobby Sands died in 1981 after 66 days.

People come out once again for the hunger strikers

Many believe Starmer and his ‘justice’ secretary David Lammy are perfectly prepared to let the hunger strikers die ignored, to protect Israel from scrutiny. Lammy has even tried to pretend that he knew nothing about their actions, when challenged by protesters.

The ‘Filton 24’, of whom the political prisoners striking are part, have been imprisoned for twenty months without trial as Starmer seeks to ‘make the protest the punishment’ and remove juries from trials, after a string of juries have acquitted those he targets for opposing and exposing Israel. The hunger-strikers have launched legal action against David Lammy for his cowardly refusal to meet.
