Rail union RMT, has put the latest pay offer of 3.8 per cent from Network Rail out to referendum of its members working in maintenance and operations on the railway with a recommendation to accept.
Network Rail offer
The publicly owned company has offered a pay rise in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI) for one year. The offer includes a guarantee of no compulsory redundancies.
RMT members will now decide whether to accept the offer and end the pay dispute.
Eddie Dempsey, general secretary RMT, said:
Our members working in Network Rail now have the opportunity to choose whether to accept or reject this offer.
We are a democratic organisation and ultimately it will be our members who make the decision.
The referendum opens on Wednesday 7 January and closes on Thursday 15 January.
